BALI, THE UNFORGETTABLE ISLAND OF THE GODS

Nothing like travelling even if it is for work. I just spend a complete week enjoying the best of Bali and I almost don’t make it back home... a really mesmerizing place.

Bali is only one of Indonesia’s 17,000 islands but I can honestly say now that I understand why they named it the “Island of the Gods”, because it is complete paradise. A place filled with a unique variety of hills and mountains, beautiful sandy beaches, volcanic hillsides, traditional rice terraces and plenty more to see. I couldn’t experience it all, but I got a taste of this really special part of the world and I’m ready to share it with you.

Your first stop should be Seminyak in southern Bali, this amazing beach area is absolutely high-end, and there are countless restaurants, as well as many villas and resorts you should make sure to add to your check list. I was able to visit some of the best hotels in South Bali, so I can recommend you my favorites. In my top three you’ll find the Belmond Jimbaran Puri, the Amanusa Resort and St. Regis Bali, one of the very best resorts in Nusa Dua

There is no doubt this island is surrounded by a great number of temples, including Uluwatu, also in southern Bali. This is a visit you wouldn’t want to miss, because in this fantastic temple, rested 70 meters above a cliff, you can enjoy Bali’s most symbolic dance, the Kecak. A unique dance mixed with fire, which serves as an expression of their impressive culture. If you don’t enjoy the dance, I can guarantee you will love the views, especially of the Indian Ocean. And, if you are looking for a place to stay in this part of Bali, you should definitely give Alila Villas a try. This is the most magnificent hotel in Uluwatu.

Next stop, Ubud. If culture is what you seek, this is the place to be. This town is at just one-hour drive from the southern resorts and is the home for one of Bali’s Royal Families. While you visit this excellent place, you can stay at the Alila Ubud Hotel, a very secluded hillside retreat that can be ideal for any visit or even more, a honeymoon! For a romantic time, this is where you should stay.
Another very impressive choice in Ubud is the Ritz Carlton ReserveMandapa. This unique hotel is surrounded by the Ayung River and rice paddies, so you really get a sense of what Bali is all about. But, if luxury is in you mind, Amandari must be first in your agenda, plus, their views are completely breathtaking. The trip couldn’t be complete if you don’t enjoy Ubud’s rainforest and terraced rice paddies and take the typical photo, I did!

Time to go to the eastern regency of Bali. Here you can find the Pura Besakih temple complex. This is considered the holiest temple in the Hindu religion, also known as Bali’s “Mother Temple”. However, one of my favorite sites was Tamana Ujung Sukasada or the “Water Palace”, an immense and wonderful place you need to visit. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much sun during my trip, so my photos can’t really show how impressive this palace is, yet I’m glad I got to experience it.
Afterwards, you can visit Tirtagangga’s water gardens, I was able to enjoy the amazing statues but also the variety of fishes in many different colors. If you need more days to visit eastern Bali, then the luxurious Amankila hotel could keep you very comfortable. They have black-sand beaches and beautiful views of the waters of Lombok

Astonishing surroundings, culture and so much more, Bali most certainly has it all, so if you are ready to experience it, make sure to contact me and I will create a perfect trip for you.
